Rising Prices
The prices of wholesale products have been rising since February 2018, but a sudden rise was observed from February 2020 to March 2020. Groundnut oil price per litre was Rs85 in 2018, then it rose to Rs101 in 2019, after which its price became Rs121 till March 2020. Rice per kg was Rs20 in 2018 whereas flour per kg was Rs18. Both the products had the same price in February 2019 and had the same surge in February 2020, as Rs25 to Rs28 respectively. However, rice became Rs30 and flour became Rs35 in March 2020. The price of Toor Dal kept rising too from Rs45 in 2018 to Rs56 in 2019, to Rs69 in Feb 2020 and Rs75 in March 2020.
