Ciliary muscle s are very important . They help in changing the focal length of the eye by changing it's shape i.e they help in changing the thickness of the eye lens while focusing. Due to oldage our ciliary muscle weaken and therefore lead to a eye defect called presbiopya in which a person can neither see an object nearby or far from him this can be corrected by a bifocal lense..
