 There are four major oceans – the pacific ocean , the Atlantic ocean , the Indian ocean and Artic ocean

 The pacific Ocean is the largest ocean in comparision to other all oceans.

Importance of Ocean :

 The maximum amount of evaporation takes place from the ocean waters .Evaporation results in condensation which give  us  rainfall .

 The ocean waters are home to great variety of marine life which is a source of livelihood to many people.

 The saline waters of the oceans can be made suitable for drinking by process of saline water into fresh water .

 Ocean have a large effect on climate of the coastal region.

 The ocean are an economic source of a energy , tides and waves help to create electricity .

 The ocean waters have dissolved salts and the ocean floor has many mineral deposits which have main role in economically .

 Oceans are the mean of transport and they are the main role in trade and commerce between countries and continents.

 Oceans provide water for various purposes like drinking , irrigation , power generation and transportation etc .
