Importance of Peninsular plateau:

Peninsular plateau is the largest physical region in the country. Peninsular plateau region is a part of Gondwana land. There are several mountains on this plateau which are completely influenced by the weather-action for about millions of years.

These mountains have been divided into several small plateaus. There are narrow and broad river valleys. Thus, it is filled with many terrestrial variations.

The North Western part of Peninsular plateau has fertile black soil which is very good for the cotton harvest. The rivers of Western ghats are used for hydroelectricity.
