The three types of cells present in the blood are:

1. RBC (red blood cells) also called Erythrocytes.

2. WBC (white blood cells) also called Leukocytes; and

3. Platelets also called Thrombocytes.

Below are the functions of each of them:

1. RBC- the main job of red blood cells or erythrocytes is to carry oxygen from the lungs to the body tissues and carbon dioxide as a waste product away from the tissues and back to the lungs.

2. WBC- white blood cells also called leukocytes are the cells of the immune system that are involved in protecting the body against both infectious disease and foreign invaders.

3. Platelets- Platelets are tiny blood cells that help your body from clothes to stop bleeding. the additional platelets file on to the cloth in a process called aggregation.

1. EUKARYOTIC CELLS: The types of cells whose nucleus is enclosed inside a nuclear membrane are known as eukaryotic cells. For ex- cancer cells, sperm cells, plant cells etc.

2. PROKARYOTIC CELLS: The types of cells whose nucleus is not enclosed in a nuclear membrane are known as prokaryotic cells. For ex- bacteria, blue-green algae etc.
