Answer: Law of conservation of mass states that the mass of reactant is equal to the mass of product after the reaction is complete.

For e.g.

2 Na + Cl₂ =  2 NaCl

Mass of 2 Na = 2 * 23 amu = 46 amu

Mass of Cl₂ = 2*35.5 amu = 71 amu

Mass of 2 NaCl = 2* (23 + 35.5) = 117 amu

Here,

Mass of 2 Na + Mass of Cl₂ =  Mass of 2 NaCl
