Answer:

• Relection Of light —

The bouncing back of the light rays from the surface of an object is called Reflection.

The ray of light which falls on an object is called Incident ray of light and the ray of light which gets bounced or reflected from the surface of an object is called reflected ray of light. The angle between the incident ray and the normal at the point of incidence is called the angle of incidence (∠i). The angle between the reflected ray and the normal is called the angle of reflection (∠r).

• Laws of Reflection —

The reflection of light takes place from a reflecting Surface according to definite laws. These are known as Laws of Reflection.

1. The incident ray, the reflected ray and normal at the point of incidence, lie in the same plane.

2. The angle of incidence is always equal to the angle of reflection (∠i = ∠r).

[The law of refection is illustrated in figure-1]

• Example –

When we see ourselves in a mirror, it appears that our image is actually behind the mirror. This is illustrated in [Figure-2]. We see the light coming from a direction determined by the law of reflection. The angles are such that our image is exactly the same distance behind the mirror as we stand away from the mirror.

hope this helps!
