Answer:

Law of independent Assortment :- It is based on inheritance of the genes, i. e, Dihybrid cross. it states that when two pairs of contrasting traits are combined in a hybrid, segregation of one pair of characters is independent of the other pair of characters. Thus, the gene randomly rearrange in the offsprings producing both parental and new combinations of characters. therefore, the inheritance of another character and both the character assort independently. The punnet square can be used to understand the independent segregation of two pairs of gene during meiosis.

Law of Segregation :- it states that the factors or alleles of pair segregate from each other during gamete formation in a way that gene receives only one of the two factors. they do not show any blending or mixing. it is also known as law of purity of gametes.

  • Mendel's law of independent assortment states that the alleles of two (or more) different genes get sorted into gametes independently of one another. In other words, the allele a gamete receives for one gene does not influence the allele received for another gene.
  • Gregor Mendel's law of segregation has four parts. First, it defines an allele. Second, it states that organisms inherit one allele from each parent. Third, it states that gametes only carry one allele for each trait. Fourth, it defines the difference between dominant and recessive genes.
