LIMITATIONS

OF

DIMENSIONAL

ANALYSIS --------

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  1. if a formula is dimensionally correct then it is not compulsory that it must be physically correct.
  2. we cannot derive those formulas dimensionally which involve addition or subtraction.
  3. we cannot derive those relations which involve trigonometric function logarithmic function and exponential functions.
  4. we cannot find the value of dimensional less constant K while deriving the relation between various physical quantities.
  5. we can't find those relations in which two or more physical quantities have same dimensions.
  6. we can't derive those relations in which number of fundamental quantities used is less than number of physical quantities on right hand side of expression less than the number of physical quantities on left hand side of expression.
Explanation:
LIMITATION OF DIMENSIONAL ANALYSIS:
  1. It Can't be used to drive relation involving more than 3 physical quantities.
  2. Can't Be used to derive relations involving dimensional constant.
  3. Can't be used for relations involving trigonometric ratios, log, exponentials etc.
  4. Can't be used for relations involving addition or subtraction of physical quantities.
  5. Can't Be used for relations with involve different physical quantities having same relations.
