ACID - a). They contain H+ ions.

b). They are sour in taste.

c). Their PH value is between 0-7.

BASE - a). They contain OH-ions.

b). They are bitter in taste.

c). Their PH value is between 7-14

Neutralisation reaction

When an acid is react with base salt and water is formed

Acid + Base ----> Salt + ( H²O) Water

Acidic salt -- strong acid + weak base

Basic salt -- strong base + weak acid

Neutral salt -- same amount of both acid and base
