The main features of the Vienna treaty are as follows:
- The Bourbon dynasty got back to power whereas France lost some of the territories.
- Prevention of the France expansion by forming states on the boundaries.
- The Netherlands, along with Belgium, was formed in the north while in the south, Genoa was merged with Piedmont.
- The German Confederation consisting of all the 39 states together were left unchanged.
- A part of Poland was given to Russia while a part of Saxony was given to Prussia. Prussia was also allotted new territories in the west.
- Austria was given the entire control of northern Italy.
The main objective or aim was to reverse the changes brought in by the Napoleonic wars in Europe and establish a new conservative order.
