Let, the length be l and the breadth be b.

After the subtraction of 15 from both the length and the breadth, they be (l - 15) and (b - 15)

Thus the perimeter be

2 {(l - 15) + (b - 15)}

Given that,

2 {(l - 15) + (b - 15)} = 26 .....(i)

Or, 2 {l - 15 + b - 15) = 26

Or, l + b - 30 = 13

Or, l + b = 13 + 30

Or, l + b = 43,

which is the required mathematical expression.
