Inhalation and Exhalation in humans:

•Inhalation:

Inhalation is the process of taking air(oxygen) into our lungs. During inhalation, contraction of diaphragm and surrounding muscles occurs,expanding the thoracic cavity. This occurs so that,the volume of lungs increase.

•Exhalation:

Exhalation is second phase of the process of breathing. It is the removal of the air in lungs. During this process,the diaphragm expands and the thoracic cavity contracts pumping out air.

Inhalation and Exhalation together consist of the process of breathing.
