Answer:

Copper is obtained from copper pyrites (CuFeS2) by following steps: (a) Concentration: The ore is crushed and agitated with a mixture of pine oil and water. Frothing takes place and the ore particles are carried with the foam to the top from where they are skimmed off while the gangue particles settle at the bottom.

Hey there!

1. Since Copper Pyrite (CuFeS₂) is a Sulphide ore, we preferably carry out the Froth Flotation process to concentrate the ore.

2. Then the ore is reduced by Roasting:

2CuFeS₂ + O₂ --------> Cu₂S + 2FeS + SO₂

# It is important to note the oxidation states of Cu (I) and Fe (II) in the above reaction. Also the SO₂ gas evolved is used to manufacture H₂SO₄

# The mixture of Cu₂S and FeS is called Copper matte

3. Further on we carry out Bessemerisation to get pure copper and then electrolytically refine the "blistered copper" to get pure copper.

But your answer ends in step 2
