Molecular formula of bromides

Butane = C₄ H ₁₀

Pentane = C₅ H ₁₂

Remove 1 H for 1 Br and we are done !

Butyl bromide = C₄ H₉ Br

Pentyl bromide = C₅ H₁₁ Br
