Hey mate here's your answer

Homologous Series:

Let me first explain that is a series of compounds that can be represented by same general formula, have same function groups (if any), similar general methods of preparation and similar general reactions.

About Question:

Here, ethane i.e. C2H6 has general formula CnH2n+2 and belong to alkane series.

Correction:

I would like to make a correction here (in the question) that ethane is not the first member of alkane series because first member is methane. Ethane will be the second member, 3rd member will be propane and fourth will be butane.

Answer to probably correct Question:

However if I assume you inadvertently have written ethane (may be due to autocorrect or auto complete facility during typing or there may have been the typing error in the book from which you are studying) but wanted to know for ethene (or ethyne), then the homologous series will be alkene (or alkyne). In that case, the 2nd member will be propene (or propyne) and third member will be butene (butyne).

Infact this question about ethene has been asked in IITJEE exam few years back.

Hypothetical Answer:

Still if I consider, there is no mistake in the question and it is just a hypothetical question where we have to assume ethane as the first member, then the hypothetical answer will be propane as the second member and butane as the third member.

I hope I could do the justification with the question.
