The substance we are talking about here is Ethanol (C2 H5 OH) .
When ethanol is burnt with concentrated
H2 SO4 we get Ethene (C2 H2).
Ethene is formed because H2 SO4 reacts as a dehydrating agent in the reaction which makes ethanol to become ethene.
