&lt;i&gt;The organic compounds with suffix "ol" is alcohol with (-OH) functional group. The alcohol with two carbon atoms is ethanol &lt;B&gt;C2H5OH which reacts with excess of conc. H2SO4 to form ethene as:<br />C2H5OH​  ---conc. H2SO4​ --&gt; CH2=CH2 (ethene) + H2O<br />Here, conc sulphuric acid acts as dehydrating agent.
