benzenehas 3 (C=C) pi bonds. So, there are 12 total sigma bonds and 3 pi bonds in benzene. ... When we come to no.of pi bonds in each carbon in benzene there will be one un hybridized orbital that will overlap with other carbon axially to from pi bonds.Each two carbons will overlap axilly to form pi bond.
