The name of objects available in our home which make acute angle, obtuse angle, right angle and straight angle, are as follows -

  • Acute angle : Angles less than 90°
  • Examples : Central angle of a single slice of pizza (when pizza is divided in 5 or more slices), angle between minute hand and hour hand when the time is 2p.m. / 2a.m. , angle between middle finger and index finger when all the fingers are stretched out.

  • Obtuse angle : Angles greater than 90° but less than 180°
  • Examples : Angle between two blades of ceiling fan (only for the ceiling fans having 3 blades) , angle between minute hand and hour hand when the time is 4p.m. / 4 a.m. , angle between the monitor and keyboard of a fully opened laptop.

  • Right angle : Right angle means 90°
  • Examples : Angle between the tabletop and a leg of that table, angle between the minute hand and hour hand when the time is 9 a.m. / 9 p.m. , angle at the corner of a window.

  • Straight angle : Straight angle means 180°.
  • Examples : Angle between two equal halves of a ruler, angle between minute hand and hour hand when the time is 6p.m. / 6a.m. , angle between two equal halves of a needle.
