The parts of the plant that perform the functions mentioned in the question are as follows:

i. Anchoring:

  • This is the function of the roots of the plant.
  • Anchoring simply refers to the act of firmly securing anything in place. Plant roots go deep into the ground and extend out into the soil, forming a strong attachment for plants to develop out of.

ii. Transportation:

  • This is the function of vascular or the conducting tissues present in the plant.
  • Different parts of plants need water and food for survival. It can be transported from the roots of the plant underground to other plant parts through xylem (water transportation) and through the phloem from leaves to other plant parts (food transportation).

iii. Preparing food:

  • This is a function of the leaf of the plant.
  • The plant leaf contains a green pigment called chlorophyll which catches sunlight to prepare nutrition for the plant.

iv. Reproduction:

  • The plant part which is responsible for reproduction is the male reproductive organ (stamen) anther containing pollens and the female reproductive organ ovary inside the pistil.
  • Asexual mode of reproduction varies for different plants and parts involved can be a leaf, stem, etc.

v. Germination:

  • This is the function of the seed part of the plant.
  • The entire plant grows from this part of the plant.
