Answer:

Himalayas is divided into three ranges from north to south. They are the Lesser Himalayas, the Great Himalayas and the Outer Himalayas.

The Greater Himalayas is the northernmost range also known as the Inner Himalayas or Himadri. It has the highest peak Mount Everest and many other peaks like Kanchenjunga, Nanga Parbat, Nanda Devi and Badrinath Many rivers and glaciers originate from here like Ganga and Yamuna rivers and the Gangotri and Yamunotri glaciers.

The Lesser Himalayas also known as the Middle Himalayas or the Himachal lies to the south of Himadri. They are much lower in height and has many beautiful hill stations like Shimla, Nainital and Darjeeling.

The Outer Himalayas also known as Shivalik Range lies to the south of the Himachal. It is the lowest Himalayan range. It consists of many broad valleys called as duns and Dehradun is the best known one.
