These are divided in :-
a) The Central highland
b) The Deccan plateau
a) CENTRAL PLATEAU:- this lie in the north of Narmada river. It covers the major portion of the Malwa plateau . The rivers in this region flow from southwest to northeast which indicates the slope of this region. It is wider in West and narrower in the east. Bundelkhand & Baghelkhand. mark the eastward extension of this plateau. This plateau further extends eastward into chotanagpur plateau .
DECCAN PLATEAU:- it lies to the south of Narmada river.it is triangular shape. The Satpura range makes its northern part . The Mahadev, Kaimur Hills and Maikal range makes its eastern part . The slope of the Deccan plateau is from West to East. It extends into the north-east which encompasses Meghalaya , Karbi- anglong plateau and the North Cacher hills .

DECCAN PLATEAU:- This Pleatue can be found in the south of Narmada river which is triangular in shape. The Satpura range forms its northern part. The Kaimur Hills, Mahadev, and Maikal mountain forms its eastern part. The inclination of the Deccan plateau is from West to East. It stretches from north-east which comprises Meghalaya, Karbi and the North Cacher hills.
