ANSWER : - Xylem is a complex tissue. It is also known as the water-conducting tissue of vascular plants which consists of dead hollow cells in the form of fibres and sclereids and some living parenchyma providing mechanical support. The main functions of xylem is to transport water and mineral salts and to provide rigidity to various plant organs. Xylem tissues frequently exist in the vascular pores of the roots, stems and leaves of the plants.
