Usually plants store food in the form of glucose and starch or carbohydrate. The plants which store food in their stem is called stem tubers. Potato, sweet potato, ginger (rhizome), colacasia (corms), onion (bulbs), lily (bulbs), radish, carrot, beets, turnips, sweet corn etc., are some examples of stem tubers. The food is prepared in the leaves and is stored in phloem also. This process is called photosynthesis.
