Explanation:
Stepwells or baolis are wells or ponds where a series of steps down to water level enters the surface. These may be multi-story with a bullock turning a water wheel up to the first and second floor to lift the water well.
Chand Baori - Chand Baori has 3500 narrow steps going down to 13 stories. Considered one of the world's largest wells, and certainly India's largest phase well, it is also one of its kind's oldest buildings. It was founded by King Chanda of Nikumbh Empire in the late 8th century to respond to the region's water-related crisis.
Raniji Ki baori - Also known as the step wells town, Bundi is known for many such magnificent creations. In and around the city there are more than 80 step wells; however, none is as magnificent as the Raniji ki Baori. Built on Queen Nathavati's orders, Rao Raja Anirudh Singh's mother, Raniji ki Baori is a top specimen of the area's 17th-century architecture.
