The first reason is, atomic mass = mass of protons + mass of neutrons present.. The second proof is the numerical data.. Mass of a proton and a neutron is approximately 1.67 *10^-27 kg with the neutron being slightly heavier while mass of an electron is 9.1*10^-31 kg
