There occurs very little rainfall in deserts annually. Desert nights are very cold as there is less moisture in the atmosphere.

During day, deserts are very hot. It is because the sand absorbs and holds the heat from the sun. Desert temperatures may rise over 100° F in day time.

During nights, deserts are cold. The sand cannot retain the heat for longer time as the sun sets hence making the nights cold. In night, the temperature may come down to 25° F.
