2x² - 7x + 9 = 0

Here,

a = 2

b = -7

c = 9

The discriminant b² - 4ac = ?

=> (-7)² - 4(2)(9)

=> 49 - 72

=> - 23

As the discriminant= -23 and smaller than 0

if b² - 4ac > 0

then no real roots exist.
