Given:

AP series:

-4,- \frac{1}{2},3

To find:

the next 2 terms

Solution:

a=-4,

d=-\frac{1}{2}-(-4)

=-\frac{1}{2} +4

=4-\frac{1}{2}

=\frac{8-1}{2}

=\frac{7}{2}

Therefore,

a=-4, d=\frac{7}{2}

t_{n}=a+(n-1)d

So, 4th term

t_{4}=-4+(4-1)×\frac{7}{2}

=-4+\frac{21}{2}

=\frac{21}{2}-4

=\frac{21-8}{2}

=\frac{13}{2}

=6\frac{1}{2}

5th term,

t_{5}=-4+(5-1)×\frac{7}{2}

=-4+14

=10

Hence the next two terms are  6\frac{1}{2}  and 10.
