Mr. Hall is a henpacked husband who dances on the tunes of his wife. Though he is a cab driver and has a different vocation, but he usually interferes in his wife’s business. He is the co-owner of his inn namely Coach & Horses but is often dominated by his wife. He is bit social and amiable person who takes care of others and respects their emotions. He is fond of drinking and does not shy away to take a couple of sips daily. When, his wife shelters a strange man(Griffin), he objects the stranger’s presence but snubbed by Mrs. Hall on the spot. He is even beaten by stranger couple of times when he tries to evict him from his home. In nutshell, we can say that, he helps his wife a lot in all her work and standby even in difficult times. He represents himself as an ideal life partner who carries Mrs. Hall’s orders and supports her in all sizes of life.

Griffin is the protagonist of this novel ‘The Invisible Man’ written by ‘H.G.Wells‘. He is an albino, a prodigy, a meritorious student but extremely short-tempered by nature. In the beginning of the novel, he comes to Iping (a small hillside village of London) as a wrapped up mystery who remains covered with bandages from top to bottom. Initially, he starts his career as a teacher but soon gets attracted towards the formula of being invisible under the supervision of Professor Oliver. He leaves no stone unturned to succeed in his mission but argues with his mentor due to credit-taking issue. He forsakes the profession & company of Prof. Oliver to work single handedly. Therefore, he changes his abode and goes to stay in The Great Portland Street where he almost succeeds in being invisible. Due to his stealing of his father’s money, his father commits suicide but he remains unaffected and focussed At first, he feels extremely proud of his invisibility but soon he realises the shortcomings of being invisible. In his anger, he burns his landlords house and escapes from there.

Thomas Marvel is an alcoholic who depends on charity altogether for his survival. He is short in stature, fat and ugly. On his first encounter with Griffin, he refuses to believe that he is talking to an invisible man. When hit by Griffin with flint on his toe, he gets ready to believe in former’s invisibility. Even, he gets ready to help the stranger in his misdeeds. On the order of Griffin, he goes to Coach and Horses to steal the stranger’s luggage where he has a narrow escape of being caught by Huxter(General Dealer) and other local people. Although he is saved by the invisible man, but he shows no pity on that short man (Marvel). He is laden with luggage, three fat books and golden coins which Griffin robs of the people, taking the advantage of his invisibility. Having seen the intension of the stranger, he decides to quit his job and requests Griffin to accept his resignation. But, his wish is denied. He is also beaten and pushed by Griffin when he tries to disclose the secret of Griffin and his identity to one of the mariners. Finally, he manages to escape from the company of the stranger in the end. He goes to police and surrenders himself for being safe. In this way, he also becomes a prey of Griffin’s misdeeds.

Dr. Kemp is a man of science who remains busy throughout the day in his studies. He is a very simple man with flattened hair and is preparing for fellowship exam of Royal Society, London. Kemp shows lack of interest when informed about the presence of the stranger in his home town. He enters his room & observes strange happening over there. Before he could understand anything, he is startled by a familiar voice. Griffin, who enters his house stealthily, opens up in front of him and takes him to flash back when they both used to study together in University, College London.

Even after a lot of convincing, Dr. Kemp fobids to believe in his invisibility. He does not believe till he is given couple of blows by him. Later Griffin shares all his issues with him and seeks his support to succeed in his mission. He also tells him that what difficulties he had in being invisible like he could not walk and eat publicly, could be perceived by dogs. Dr. Kemp discloses all his weakness and ways to catch him with Colonel Adye but fails to get a hold on him. Griffin escapes which leaves Dr. Kemp trembled. In the end, Dr. Kemp manages to escape from his house when attacked by Griffin. He takes masons’ help to kill him and finally succeeds in his mission. In nutshell, Dr. Kemp plays as protagonist in this novel.
