In algebra, terms are the values on which the mathematical operations take place in an expression. A term can be a constant or a variable or both in an expression.
In the expression, 3a + 8, 3a and 8 are terms.
Here is another example, 5x + 7 is the expression and 5x and 7 are the terms.
(1.)5x²+3×ax
= 5x²+3 ax
here, the no. of terms will be. 2 (5x² and 3ax)
(2.) ax÷4-7
= (ax/4)-7
here, the no. of terms will be. 2 (ax/4 and 7)
(3.)ax-by+y× z
=ax-by+yz
here , the no. of terms will be. 3 (ax,by and yz)
(4.)23+a×b÷2
= 23+ (ab/2)
here , the no. of terms will be. 2 (23 and ab/2)
