Step-by-step explanation:

How do I factor out (x⁴-4x³+5x²-4x+4) ^¼/ (x²-3x+2) ^½ ? What is the factor of that?

x^4 -4x^3 +5x^2 -4x+4

two is a zero here so x-2 is a factor

Let poly be

(x-2) ( x^3 +ax^2+bx-2 )

Coeff of x = -2-2b = -4

b = 1

Coeff of x^3 = a-2 = -4 , a= -2

x^3 -2x^2 +x-2 = 0

Again 2 is a zero so x-2 is a root

x-2) (x^2+ax +1)

Coeff of x = 1–2a = 1

a = 0

So our original polynomial becomes

x-2)^2 (x^2+1) / x-1 ) ( x-2)
