The process of centrifugation is used in dairies to separate cream from milk . ... when the centrifuge machine is switched ON, the milk is rotated at very high speed in a container. Due to this process, milk separates into cream and skimmed milk

The solution so obtained is a saturated solution of copper sulphate at 50°C. On cooling, the solubility of copper sulphate will decrease and it will start settling down at the bottom of the beaker.

The mixture of chalk powder and water can be separated by condensation and evaporation. The particles of chalk powder when left undisturbed settle at the bottom. The particles of chalk powder will also scatter a beam of light passing through it. -A mixture of common salt and water forms a clear solution.

Explanation:

1. When milk is rotated at a very high speed in a mixer, the milk is separated into cream and skimmed milk because of centrifugal force. Cream being lighter will be floating above the milk and thus can be separated.

2. When super saturated copper sulphate solution is cooled, the solubility which had increased due to rise in temperature will decrease and crystals of copper sulphate will begin to settle at the bottom of the beaker.

3. The chalk powder solution is an example of suspension, so, the suspended chalk particles will not dissolve in water. When chalk powder solution is left undisturbed for some time, these undissolved chalk particles begin to settle at the bottom of the container. After some more the the water and chalk powder can be seen as two separate components clearly.
