  • pH is the negative logarithm to base 10 of molar concentration.
  • It explains the acidity or basicity in aqueous solution.

For given solutions, pH values are as follows -

1) Dilute hydrochloric acid -

pH => about 1

2) Sodium hydroxide solution -

pH => about 12

3) Dilute solution of ethanoic acid -

pH => about 4

4) Lemon juice -

pH => about 2.5

5) Water -

pH => approx 7

6) Dilute sodium bicarbonate solution -

pH => about 9

* pH values change with change in concentration.
