Answer:

Phenotype: The phenotype is the outward manifestation of the characteristics of an organism, that is, its character.

Genotype:Genotype refers to the outward manifestation of a genetic coordinate allele. That is, it is determined by judging the inequality of the allele.

before saying the ratio phenotype and genotype I give you the name of few allele which you given in your question.(Y allele only given for the colour of peas seed)

YY- Yellow

Yy-Yellow

yy- Green

The ratio of phenotype is 3:1(Because here the three characteristics are equal and one is different. That means three colors are yellow and one color is green so the ratio is 3: 1)

The ratio of genotype is 1:2:1[Because here the genotype is determined in terms of alleles, the ratio is 1: 2: 1 (YY: Yy: yy)]

Given:

Punnett Square has been provided.

To find:

Phenotypic and Genotypic ratios?

Calculation:

  • Let's assume that Y is dominant and y is recessive.
  • So, YY (homozygous dominant) , Yy , yY (heterozygous dominant) will have same dominant phenotype, because:Y will show domination over y.
  • Only yy will have recessive phenotype.

So, phenotypic ratio:

 \boxed{ \rm \: dominant : recessive = 3 : 1}

Now, the various genotypes are:

  • YY
  • Yy and yY are same.
  • yy

From the table, we can say:

Genotypic Ratio:

 \boxed{ \rm \: YY : Yy : yy = 1 : 2 : 1}

Hope It Helps.
