The physical states of the reactants and products are as follows -

The reactants of the given chemical equation are :

1) Iron or Fe  & 2) Water or H2O.

• Now,the iron is in it's natural solid state while taking part in this chemical reaction. But,water is in it's gaseous state, because iron can only react with gaseous steam.

The products of the given chemical equation are :

1) Iron oxide or Fe3O4 & 2) Hydrogen or H2.

• Now,any chemical compound which is produced from water, will be in it's aqueous solution form. And, similarly the iron oxide is also in it's aqueous solution form in this chemical reaction. On the other hand, the hydrogen is in it's normal gaseous state in this chemical reaction.
