Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

GANGA : A 2006 measurement of pollution in the Ganges revealed that river water monitoring over the previous 12 years had demonstrated fecal coliform counts up to 100,000,000 MPN (most probable number) per 100 ml and biological oxygen demand levels averaging over 40 mg/l in the most polluted part of the river in Varanasi.

YAMUNA : Pollution levels in the Yamuna River have risen. Biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) load has increased by 2.5 times between 1980 and 2005: From 117 tonnes per day (TDP) in 1980 to 276 TDP in 2005. The Yamuna has been reduced to a small stream, draining industrial effluents, sewage, dirt and other toxic substances.

BHRAMAPUTRA : Oil pollution also significantly polluted groundwater, which seeps into nearby rivers and in Assam's case, Brahmaputra is the primary victim of such pollution. After waste, oil is Brahmaputra's worst enemy. Instances of oil spills in the river have increased in the past 10-15 years.

GODAVARI : River Godavari is under the serious threat as a result of the growing Urbanization and industrialization. The river has been dying at an alarming rate due to the pollution created by the factories. The main reason behind the pollution of Godavari river is the tiny Nakavaggu rivulet, which joins the Manjira, tributary of the Godavari. Nakavaggu rivulet supports no life at all. Rivulet is surrounded by the highly productive agricultural land, which is polluted by the large number of industries lying near the twin cities of Secunderabad and Hyderabad. However the 72 industries in the Patancheru Industrial area dumping the chemicals and waste into the water are most responsible for the pollution of the river.

KAVERI : Cauvery river's amount of total dissolved solids is 753 mg per litre, which is nearly six times that of the Ganga. “The higher the chemical load of the river is generated due to geologic conditions and mostly by the pollution induced by the people.
