Postulates of Bohr's Model of an Atom Each orbit or shell has a fixed energy and these circular orbits are known as orbital shells. The energy levels are represented by an integer (n=1, 2, 3…) ... This range of quantum number starts from nucleus side with n=1 having the lowest energy level.

Bohr's model explains the elusive hydrogen spectral lines. But this model has its limitations / drawbacks. Bohr's atomic model can not explain the Zeeman effect or Stark effect. And it also fails to explain the complicated spectral lines for atoms with more than one electron
