i) Gases consists of large number of tiny particles called molecules

ii) Gaseous molecules moving randomly in all directions with different velocities.

During their random motion they collide with each other and also with the walls of the container

iii) Collisions of gas molecules are perfectly elastic. their Total energy remains constant

iv) The actual volume of the gas molecules is negligible in comparison to the total volume of the container

v) Gases exert pressure due to the collision of the particles with the walls of the container
