The Prime Minister is the most important political institution in the country. He/ She have wide ranging powers.

1. He is the Head of the country
2. He chairs cabinet meetings.
3. His decisions are final in case of disagreement  between departments.
4. He distributes and redistributes work to ministers
5. He also has power to dismiss ministers.
6. When the Prime Minister quits, the  entire ministry quits. Thus within the cabinet the Prime Minister is the most powerful so  much so that parliamentary democracies are sometimes seen as prime ministerial form  of government
