  • It is necessary to match the type of blood of the donor and recipient. The antigens and antibodies present in blood act against each other when the blood of opposite antigen bis transfused into the body of person. The antibodies of person act against the antigen and cause clumping of blood. It lead to infections or even death. Thus, the transfusion must be done by matching the types of blood of the donor and recipient.
