I'n laboratory, hydrogen sulphide is prepared by the action of dilute sulphuric acid on iron sulphide in a Kipp's apparatus: FeS + HlS04 +FeS04 + H2S ? into the lower reservoir and up the central tube to the upper reservoir. Iron sulphide in the central bulb dries up and no more gas is produced.
