This reaction is also known as Dow process and this is an important industrial method for the production of phenol.

The conversion of Chlorobenzene to phenol is read under a commercial 

process called as "Dow's Process" in which 6-8% NaOH ( or some other

base) is added to Chlorobenzene in presence of high temperature and pressure
