Washing soda can be obtained from sodium chloride.

Baking soda is obtained from sodium chloride as follows.

On heating, baking soda produces sodium carbonate.

Recrystallization of sodium carbonate gives washing soda.

Uses of Washking Soda :

Washing soda (sodium carbonate) is used in glass, soap and paper industries.

It is used in the manufacture of sodium compounds such as borax. .

Sodium carbonate can be used as a cleaning agent for domestic purposes.

It is used for removing permanent hardness of water

sodium carbonate can be obtained by heating baking soda .the recrystallisation of baking soda (NaHCO3) gives washing soda . it's also a basic salt  .
