Plaster of Paris is prepared by heating calcium sulphate dihydrate or gypsm to 120-180℃ . With an additive to ret.ard the set , it is called wall, or hard wall ,plaster , which can provide passive fire protection for interior surface.

It is commonly used to precast and and hold parts of ornamental plasterwork placed on ceilings

plaster of Paris is CaO which is also used in farms to secure the fields from acidic rain..on mixing it in farms acids and base(CaO) reacts and neutralise the reaction so that farms do no lose there fertility..
