Five, namely: 31, 37, 41, 43, 47.
By definition, the even numbers are not prime because they are divisible by 2. Moreover, the numbers that end with 0 or 5 are not primes, because they can be divided by 5. Applying this two rules, one gets 8 possible primes in the interval [30, 50]: 31, 33, 37, 39, 41, 43, 47, and 49.
33 and 39 are not primes because they are multiples of 3. So we now have 6. They are, 31,37,41,43,49.
As we know, 49 is the square of 7. So it is not prime either. Thus, the rest five are prime numbers.
