Froth flotation is a process for selectively separating hydrophobic materials from hydrophilic. This is used in mineral processing, paper recycling and waste-water treatment industries.
Principle of operation. Before froth flotation can work, the ore to be treated is reduced to fine particles by crushing and grinding (a process known as comminution) so that the various minerals exist as physically separate grains. This process is known as liberation.

Hi friend_______,

★ This process depends on the preferential wettability of the ore with oil and the gaunge particles by water.

★ Lighter ores such as sulphide ores are separated by this method.
