\textbf{Hey there}!!

\textbf{Answer}:

➡The transformer work on the principle of Mutual Induction.

➡It is not work on D.C. :

If D.C. voltage is applied across the primary coil of a transformer, then the magnetic flux linked with the coil with not vary with time and hence no induced e.m.f will be produced in the secondary coil That's why it doesn't work on d.c Voltage.

Hey !

______________________________

When a d.c voltage source is applied across the primary of the transformer, the current in the primary coil remains constant. Hence there is no change in the magnetic flux linked with the secondary. Therefore the voltage across the secondary coil is zero. Thus a transformer can't step up dc voltage.
