The principle of meter bridge
It is also known as slide wire bridge. It is an instrument which works on the principle of a Wheatstone bridge.
In this Principle: one Lateral pair of resistance is replaced with the straight wire of a specific length of 1m uniformly across the section.
One pair contain a known resistances and other pair contain Unknown resistance
Construction of meter Bridge
Meter bridge consist of a one meter long wire with a uniform cross sectional area ,which is fixed on the wooden block
Two gaps are formed on it with a thick metal strips, to make the Wheat stone's bridge.
The terminal B between the gaps, is basically used to connect galvanometer and the jockey stick.

- It is used to measure an unknown resistance
- It can be used for the or comparison of two unknown resistances. Potentiometer offers resistance to the flow of current
